We’re kicking off Storytime Fridays with Guardians of the Heart and the Westchester Children’s Museum!
After reading Henry’s Heart and Lindsay’s Big Heart, kids will learn about how the heart works, why it’s important to keep it healthy, and be gently introduced to the topic of sudden cardiac arrest risk among young athletes in a way that encourages awareness and self-care. Then they’ll dive into a creative watercolor activity using red, pink, and purple to paint anatomical or imaginative hearts. Heart templates and rubber stamps will be available for inspiration.
This activity blends science and self-expression, helping children explore what makes their hearts feel strong, joyful, and full of love.
